There is a horrendous bill (HB 2833) akin to the infamous Hokulia bailout bills of recent past sessions now being heard this Friday morning, the most objectionable part of which proposes to enact the following provision:
(b) Lands within any project that have soil predominantly classified by the land study bureau's detailed land classification as overall (master) productivity rating of D or E shall be reclassified as lands in the rural district as described in section 205-2, upon receipt by the land use commission of a voluntary request for the reclassification from the developer of the lands identified in the request, without the need for any proceedings before the land use commission;
This measure is based on lots of conjecture, false premises, and some fabrication of facts, as contained in the preface of the bill.
