Time to start looking at KIUC
OK, it's time to start looking at KIUC. Something appeared in the Kauai Muse Newsletter today that caught my attention. Apparently KIUC will be buying power from a biomass project, which if done right could be good, and it will be 10% of Kauai's energy needs. Actually other outer islands do rely upon biomass for energy, particularly Maui burns sugarcane biomass for some energy needs. But, setting that aside, what really caught my attention is the KIUC Strategic Plan for 2008 - 2023.
